Bill Matern is president and founder of NComm, Inc., a Salem, NH-based telecom source code development and engineering consulting firm. The company has been supporting established and startup telecom equipment manufacturers since 1996. In addition to NComm duties, Bill also supports the telecommunications industry as the T1.231 Revision Ad-Hoch Group Chair in the T1M1 technical sub-committee of the Committee T1. Previously, he was an engineering manager at Summa Four, Inc. where he designed and oversaw development of several telecom projects for Summa's open programmable switch including a 4-span T1/E1 card. While at AT&T Bell Labs, he was technical project lead on the design and development of the AT&T's first DS3 protection switch and DS3/DS1 transmission quality monitors. He also architected and was part of the development team for a system for transporting 28 DS1s via a terrestrial microwave system. From his work with Newton Communications, a company he founded in 1990, he holds patents on the design of a PBX and software for a PBX. Bill holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Vermont and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from Carnegie-Mellon University. Bill resides in Newton, NH with his wife and two sons.

John Brandte has been the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development since March of 1999 and was brought on-board to develop NComm's telecom source code business. He offers 23 years
of successful high technology business experience in the areas of financial/business
planning and analysis, manufacturing, marketing, product, engineering,
general management, and overall business development. John has significant
accomplishments in each of these areas. Prior to NComm, John
served as Vice President of Marketing at INRANGE Technologies (Westford,
MA), Director of Telecommunications Products at Aware, Inc. (Bedford,
MA), Division Vice President of Digital Products at Racal-Datacom (Sunrise,
FL) and Senior Financial Analyst at Xerox Corporation. During the four
years he managed Digital Products, he grew his business from $15M to $70M
in revenue, achieved number one market share, and became the most profitable
hardware business in the company. He has also held a variety of positions
in finance, marketing, sales and manufacturing. John holds a Bachelor
of Science (Accounting) degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology
(Rochester, NY), and a Master of Business Administration from the William
E. Simon School of Business Administration, University of Rochester (Rochester,
NY). He lives in Deerfield, New Hampshire and has two sons. |

Jeff Jones is the Director of Software Engineering at NComm, Inc. in Salem. Jeff is responsible for the design and development of NComm's family of flagship software products known as the TMS, or Trunk Management Software. The software provides for the configuration and control of T1, E1, T3, E3, SONET, and SDH communication systems.He has been with NComm since early 1998. Previous to NComm, as a 6-year military veteran who specialized in high-tech weapons systems, Jeff was a software engineering consultant to various military and commercial companies. His projects span the gamut from radar jamming and missile guidance systems to 2-way set top boxes and video-on-demand systems for the cable industry. Eventually, Jeff landed at AT&T Bell Labs for 9 years as a lead software engineer on various AT&T protection switching and performance monitoring products, including AT&T's FASTAR system. During his first 2 years at AT&T, Jeff was on the same development team as Bill Matern, NComm's president. Jeff holds a BS degree
in Computer Science and resides in Merrimack, NH with his wife and four
sons. |
